What are LHINs?
LHINs and the MOHLTC
14 Local Health Integrated Networks (LHINs) were established by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in April 2006 to plan, implement, and fund healthcare delivery at a local level. The MOHLTC has a dedicated section of their website for information about LHINs.

CSIs and LHINs
At the time that LHINs were taking shape, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care made a commitment to ensure that consumer/survivors would be fully engaged in the development of integrated healthcare systems within their communities. As a result, a number of Consumer/Survivor Initiatives were selected to be LHIN Network Leads to ensure that they brought CSIs in their area together to work on planning, coordination and input into their LHINs. The funding would also enable them to work cooperatively with the other provincial leads on relevant issues.
